Our Solutions
At Cultiwool, we develop high-performance stone wool substrates engineered to support precise root zone control at every stage of professional horticulture, from propagation through to harvest. Designed for medicinal crops, vegetables, and floriculture, our solutions enable growers to steer irrigation, nutrition, and oxygen availability with exceptional accuracy.
Through carefully optimized fiber structure, water distribution, and air balance, each Cultiwool substrate creates a stable and uniform root environment that promotes consistent plant development, predictable crop steering, and high yield potential. Advanced features such as laser-cut planting holes and tailored water flow designs further enhance ease of use and cultivation efficiency. Supported by a global distributor network, Cultiwool empowers professional growers worldwide to increase productivity while reducing resource inputs and environmental impact.
Trusted by Growers Worldwide
Cultiwool substrates are trusted by professional growers in indoor farms and greenhouses across the globe. For more than a decade, our high-quality stone wool has helped hydroponic cultivators produce top-quality crops using fewer resources. The uniform structure of our wool ensures even water distribution and oxygen balance, creating an ideal root environment for rapid, healthy plant growth. Lightweight, clean, pest-free, and easy to handle, Cultiwool provides a reliable foundation for sustainable, high-performing cultivation.
Encouraging Uniform Root Development
The secret to healthy, vigorous plants lies in the root zone. Cultiwool’s homogeneous fiber structure ensures a uniform distribution of water and nutrients, allowing roots to grow evenly throughout the entire substrate. This consistency promotes stronger plants, faster growth cycles, and more predictable results, key advantages for professional growers aiming for repeatable, high-quality harvests.
How Stone Wool Is Made
Cultiwool stone wool begins with natural basaltic rock, melted at temperatures around 1600°C. The molten rock is spun into fine fibers using advanced technology, then bonded with a natural, eco-friendly binder and formed into a dense, consistent mat. Through precise control of fiber thickness and density, we tailor the substrate’s air-to-water ratio to match horticultural needs. After cooling and curing in multi-zone furnaces, the wool achieves its final strength and stability, ready to be cut into slabs, blocks, and plugs with exceptional uniformity and quality.
Precision-Crafted for Growing Excellence
At our Polish transformation facility operated by Cultiwool S.A., large stone wool boards are expertly converted into slabs, blocks, and plugs for different cultivation stages. This process ensures each piece maintains uniform fiber distribution, consistent binder levels, and minimal unspun particles (known as shot). Cultiwool’s superior water distribution and rapid uptake distinguish it from other substrates, enabling growers to maintain full control over irrigation and fertigation strategies.
Our substrates are completely inert; free from pollutants, pathogens, or reactive compounds, ensuring that every drop of nutrient solution goes directly to your plants. With Cultiwool, growers can count on purity, consistency, and performance season after season.
At every level of cultivation, Cultiwool delivers precision-engineered substrates that drive healthy root systems and sustainable yields.
